GE-branded panels and breakers are still common in Lithia homes, even though the residential product line has been transitioning to ABB since 2024. We work with GE equipment already installed, whether that means a repair, a breaker match, or a full upgrade, with same-day estimates and 24-hour emergency service.
As of October 2024, GE's residential electrical products, including load centers and circuit breakers, officially transitioned to the ABB brand under the ReliaHome line, replacing the former PowerMark Gold and PowerMark PRO panels. This followed ABB's 2018 acquisition of GE's Industrial Solutions business.
If your panel says GE, we can still service it, and we'll explain your options clearly whether that's a like-for-like breaker replacement or considering a newer ABB panel down the road.
Your GE panel's label will typically specify exact approved breaker types, most commonly THQL, THHQL, or TQL. Using anything not listed on that label is a real safety risk, not just a compatibility inconvenience.
Not sure what your panel needs? Send us a photo of the label and we'll confirm before your visit.
Whether staying with a GE-compatible ABB panel or moving to a different brand, sized to your home's load.
THQL and THQP breakers matched correctly to your existing GE panel's label.
Diagnosing tripped breakers or other issues on GE equipment, including older discontinued models.
Existing GE panels remain fully serviceable. The brand transition to ABB doesn't mean older GE equipment stopped working or became unsafe, it's simply a change in how new products are labeled going forward.
Yes. New ABB ReliaHome breakers are backward compatible with older GE PowerMark Gold and PowerMark PRO panels, and traditional GE-branded THQL and THQP breakers also remain available.
THQL is the standard full-size residential breaker. THQP is a thinner, half-size format for higher circuit density. They are not interchangeable, so it's important to match the type your panel actually calls for.
Generally no, with one notable exception: Eaton's Type CL breakers are tested and UL-classified as interchangeable with GE panels. Other brands should not be assumed compatible without checking the panel's specific label.
We can help identify what your panel actually needs and whether a direct replacement is still available or if it's a sign the panel is due for an upgrade. We'll walk through both options honestly.
